Wine-maker David Guimaraens is the sixth generation of his family responsible for the Fonseca vintage ports and the 2000 vintage will surely rest with him for a lifetime. This is a remarkable success for the vintage, full of Fonseca's characteristic opulent complexities. Displaying deep cassis aromas and flavours this is very concentrated with a lovely firm, direct mid-palate and a strong grainy, tannic structure. Outstandingly concentrated and long on the finish.
