N/V Fino Viña Corrales Pago Balbaína (2022 Bottling), Bodegas San Francisco Javier
This vinous, terroir-driven Fino from Peter Sisseck’s project in Jerez is an absolute revelation. In 2017, Sisseck, of Dominio de Pingus fame, acquired an 8-hectare plot of the Viña Corrales vineyard at the highest point of the Balbaína Pago. From this scenic plateau overlooking the Mediterranean, cooling sea breezes, famed albariza chalky soils, and Sisseck’s meticulous winemaking efforts combine to create a textured, aromatic, and vibrant wine. So moreish, this is a wine to delight sherry lovers and sherry sceptics alike!
