The Rothschilds of Lafite began producing wine in this area south-west of Santiago in Chile nearly fifteen years ago, entering into partnership with a family winery that had been in existence for over 200 years. Le Dix was created in 1996 to commemorate ten years of the partnership. The 100% Cabernet Sauvignon wine produced from over-fifty-year-old vines was such a success that the domaine has continued to produce it in exceptional vintages. The 1999, which we are delighted to offer exclusively to Bin Club members, is undoubtedly one of Chile’s finest offerings. Packed with a great core of deep blackberry colour, there is an attractive balance between youthful black fruits and hints of mature truffle and game flavours. This is a very European-styled prestige cuvée, with natural tannins supporting the fruit, giving structure and complexity on the finish. Here the focus is on finesse, elegance and terroir.
