The blend this year is 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Cabernet Franc and was aged in 80% new barriques for 22 months. More herbal on the nose with crushed violets – Cabernet Franc speaks quite loudly at the moment - green tobacco, pencil shavings. This is both rather rich and a bit backwards in style. Dark blackcurrant fruit, bright acidity, this has a firm structure for now showing power and richness through the finish.
