2022 Follow the Line, Savage Wines, Western Cape

A Cinsault from Darling, from a 41-year old vineyard, with just a little Syrah in the blend, this is perfumed, delicate, and incredibly delicious. Notes of fynbos and wild strawberries leap from the glass, while the powdery tannins have an almost Nebbiolo feel about them. More serious than it appears at first viewing.

Tasting notes

A parcel planted in 1982 that faces south into the prevailing wind is the source of this graceful, ethereal Darling Cinsault with one of my favourite labels. Delicate, floral and enticing, it has rose petal and potpourri aromas, subtle spices from 50% whole bunches and succulent goji berry and wild strawberry flavours. 2024-29
