From a Semillon Gris vineyard planted from cuttings from a 1964 vineyard. This is a sweet and sour type of wine, with notes of apricot and peach, and then also lots of spice and intence blood orange character. Very impressive.
Half of this Semillon Gris spent seven days on its skins during fermentation, giving the resulting wine extra concentration, structure and grip. Very much a food wine, it has notes of quince, tangerine and black tea, understated oak and an appealing bitterness on the finish. Very complex. 2023-28
