2019 Full Moon White Field Blend, Alphabetical

The Full Moon White is a field blend from a single vineyard on the Swartland’s Uitkyk farm, a farm where plenty of others source grapes. Just a handful of bottles are made of this blend of Chenin, Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Chardonnay, from a 44 year old vineyard. There's stunning texture, and a slightly honeyed note that lasts an age. Brilliant.

About this producer

Alphabetical

David Cope owns the best wine bar in Cape Town (Publik, well worth a visit), and runs a wine merchant selling many of South Africa’s best wines. But this wasn’t enough for him. Alphabetical is created as an antidote to wine snobbery: wines that will please newcomers to wine just as much as they please aficionados. The red was the first bottle produced, from a whole range of grape varieties. Someone commented, “It’s almost the whole alphabet!”, and the name was born.
