2018 Grenache, David & Nadia Sadie, Swartland

2018 Grenache, David & Nadia Sadie, Swartland

2 vineyards, one clay rich/iron – organic. Other Paadeberg. Smells great, whole bunch, strawberry fruit, lovely texture and energy, very fine and long. Great tension and density, very fine and saline and long. Chalky, iron tannins on the finish.

Tasting notes

Ageing the wine in older wooden barrels really emphasises the fruit purity of this 80/20 blend of grapes from the Paardeberg and Malmesbury. With 60% whole bunches providing some extra spice and structure, this is a scented, red cherry and raspberry fruity Grenache with savoury tannins.
