2016 Terrasse White, Keermont

The Keermont Terrasse is a white blend mostly made from Chenin Blanc from a 50 year old un-irrigated vineyard called 'Riverside,' with some Chenin from two younger vineyards and small amounts of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier. Planted about 250 - 400 meters above sea level in the valley between the Stellenbosch and Helderberg mountain ranges, there's both freshness and power in this wine, with berries harvested by hand and varieties vinified separately. They use natural yeasts and seasoned French oak, with 12 months maturation on the lees, to ensure the wine reflects its terroir.
