2018 Granite Chenin Blanc, Mullineux & Leeu

2018 Granite Chenin Blanc, Mullineux & Leeu

Paadeberg – from a spot near to Eben Sadie’s cellar. Floral, citrus, nice vibrancy and coolness of fruit – such elegance and cool fruit, too. Lovely precision – focussed, and citrus. Amazing length and finesse, and such good purity on the finish. Nice phenolic bitterness here, and great purity.

Tasting notes

Andrea Mullineux sources this intensely focused Chenin Blanc from two old vineyards on the Paardeberg. Stony, saline and assertively bone dry, it's one of those whites that could only be produced from granite soils. Sappy, crunchy and very long on the palate, with citrus fruit zing.
