Just 2,497 bottles were produced of this wine, from two small ungrafted parcels on high-lying Skurfberg plots at 550 meters above sea-level. With fine red sand soil, which Chris says reminds him of the Rayas vineyards, the result is a wine that wows. It's so expressive, with remarkable tannins. Everything is so clear: this is completely different from the other wines from Alheit. It's long, and fine, with acidity that is arrow straight.
