From the Valley, this is more closed today, but with plenty of dark fruit, with morello cherries and bramble. The palate has plenty of tannin but they remain juicy and well-managed, and the finish is wonderfully saline, and mouth-watering. Stunning.

Tasting notes

How time has flown! This is now the eighth release of Vrede, grown on clay rich soils at the lower end of the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. North-facing at the top of the slope, it's Hannes Storm's plushest Pinot, with good density and structure, artfully integrated oak and an earthy bass note.
