Adi Badenhorst is one of South Africa’s most outspoken and charismatic characters, largely responsible for putting Swartland on the map in terms of the region’s quality wine making. This white is a blend in the truest sense, made from ten different varieties, including Chenin Blanc, Viognier, Roussane, Clairette, Chardonnay and Grenache Blanc. Fragrant and appealing on the nose, with notes of apricot kernel and orchard fruit, it opens out on the palate with a concentrated burst of white stone fruit, all underpinned by a smoky mineral freshness. Utterly beguiling.
