2010 Pinot Noir Reserve, Cape Chamonix, Franschhoek
From fruit grown at altitude, this retains a freshness and precision that can be easily lost in some South African Pinot Noirs. Light, bright and with a sense of verve and energy, the Chamonix Pinot is an appealing and attractive wine, redolent with red berry fruit, wild strawberry characters and a hint of peppery spice. The tannins are fine and ripe, providing an almost imperceptible structure. Fresh and pure on the finish, with an almost-red-currant acidity lingering to the end. Deliciously moreish.
