2023 Maté's Vineyard Chardonnay, Kumeu River, Kumeu

Mate's Vineyard Chardonnay remains the pinnacle of production at this celebrated New Zealand estate. The 2023 vintage marks the 31st in this vineyard, and it has the typical hallmarks of juicy white peach fruit, citrus zest and a mineral, saline length. There's a tightness now, not surprising given this is one of Kumeu's most age worthy bottlings. Silky and extremely textural feel on the palate completes the wine, with zesty acidity remaining until last on the long finish.
