‘Moonlight Race’ references a water pathway that passes through the Burn Cottage property. It is one of several hundred water channels, or ‘races’, created during the early years of European immigration to bring water down from the mountains. The grapes are sourced from three estate vineyards: Burn Cottage Vineyard (56%), Sauvage Vineyard (22%) and Luna Vineyard (22%). The three sites are planted on soils combining river silts, loams and quartz sands with broken-down schist and granite. The nose is fresh with red cherry and plum. More crunchy raspberry and saline notes on the palate. The tannins are super fine and chalky. It finishes long, mineral, with a svelte feel.
