2018 Ata Rangi, McCrone Vineyard Pinot Noir, Martinborough

The McCrone Vineyard is close to the home block at Ata Rangi and is a celebrated single vineyard in their portfolio. It's a mix of Abel and Dijon clones, and has lots of clay in the soil. The result is a silky, textural Pinot with black berry fruit and lots of baking spice. There's 25% new oak here, and a lot of fruit purity. Elegant and silky on the finish, it lifts on the finish with woody herb flavours.
