The 2016 Estate Chardonnay from Kumeu River is taut, precise and expressive. There are notes of acacia and crisp apple, alongside lime blossom and an element of steeliness and crushed oyster shell. This offers amazing complexity for the price.
An array of local sites blended together, this gives a heart and soul feel for the vintage at Kumeu. Plenty of richness and ripeness. Quite peachy and almost heads into mango tropical territory. A fleshy and approachable palate.
