2007 Desert Heart Pinot Noir, Central Otago

This up-and-coming Central Otago winery is nestled at the base of Mount Difficulty on Felton Road, deep in the heart of some of the finest Pinot country in the world, never mind New Zealand. This wine has a nose to die for, with crushed raspberry, floral characters and some autumnal notes. It shows great poise on the palate, with fine tannins and a ripe, cool-climate feel. The finish is complex and long - this is very fine New Zealand Pinot.
