2001 Pinot Noir Hope Vineyard, Greenhough, Nelson
This must be one of the most exciting Pinot Noirs currently available on our list. Deep and brooding for Pinot with a youthful purple rim, the nose is broad and expansive with pure black and bramble fruit and a toasty note from new oak. The palate is sweet and full with a velvet edge, tannins are fine grained and beautifully balanced, and a long, focused finish confirms the calibre of this top-flight wine.
