The Shiraz Viognier is Clonakilla’s flagship wine.This vintage has 6% Viognier co-fermented and has 22% whole bunch fermentation, then aged in French oak for 12 months. 2023 was a cooler year, with a lot of rain. The result is a very fragrant, cool wine with pepper, spice and floral aromas. There's always an ethereal feel to this wine, almost Pinot Noir like in its structure. The fruit is everything from dark cherry to blackberry, mineral, textural and sapid with bright acidity and a persistent, peppery finish. This is made from the best parcels of vines at the Murrumbateman estate.
