Named Australian White Wine of the Year in the latest edition of Halliday (in which Vasse Felix itself was voted the number one winery) the 2023 Heytesbury Chardonnay exhibits the fabled “Heytesbury” character of supreme balance, crisp acidity, and rich ripe fruit. From a very attractive vintage, and sourced from the Gnarawary Vineyard in Wallcliffe and the Home Vineyard in Wilyabrup, the fruit was hand harvested, whole bunch pressed, wild fermented and aged in French barrique. It has a beautiful nose combining notes of savoury and flint, and on the palate has lovely weight and richness. This is a quite stunning wine.
