Planted in 1997 between 220-320 metres above sea level, on an east-facing slope consisting of grey-brown clay loams over basalt. Of the 12.5 hectares under vine, only two are planted with Chardonnay. Sharp and focussed citrus flavours and aromas driven by a clean, crisp acidity - tightly wound lemon and sharp green apple notes propelled by measured power. Matured for 9 months in old, French oak barrels. This is just enough to add a savoury edge and a hint of roasted hazelnut to the palate, without imposing on the clean, crisp finish.
