2022 was the third 'La Niña' year in a row for Australian growers, but the wetter, cooler conditions it brings has been ideal in Luke's eyes. The Syrah in 2022 sings of these cooler conditions and the granite terroirs he sources his fruit from. It's got juicy red and black fruit, and lots of stony, saline character. He harvests tiny berries from the top of this granite outcrop where the soil is thinnest. The resulting concentration, combined with the saline, savoury feel on the palate, makes this incredibly moreish and appetising, and about as far from a classic Aussie Shiraz as you can get.
