Tolpuddle is the project of cousins Shaw and Smith in Tasmania. Their Pinot is a great balance of sappy, herbal notes and ripe brambly fruit. There's a lot of exotic spice developing and fine tannins, providing structure for long ageing. This is bright and fresh, especially in this cool year, but with its intensity and concentration, it's just delicious.
