‘GC’ stands for Gary Charles, aka Gary Farr. It's from the Cote vineyard which is unusual as it's planted very densely, more akin to an European vineyard. There are numerous aspects and soil types in this vineyard, making the wine very complex. It's made with 50% new oak, so some toasty flavours are evident at this early stage in the wine's evolution. The Cote vineyard produces expressive, smooth fruit character and the soils, combined with the light-touch winemaking, have developed smoky mineral notes too.
