Yarra Yering is one of the oldest and most beautiful estates in the Yarra Valley, founded by Dr Bailey Carrodous, a pioneer in the region. His philosophy has been followed ever since, and Yarra Yering is one of the most celebrated and collected Australian wines to this day. Sarah Crowe is the winemaker here and under her reign the quality of the wines has gone from strength to strength. Dry Red No.1 is the Cabernet blend, with Cab Sauvignon complemented by the other Bordeaux varieties. This is 'old school' Yarra, with a cool, savoury, almost European dimension to the wine. This is appetising, restrained and elegant in style, with pure fruit and layers of space and savoury flavours.
