2019 Lenswood Vineyard Chardonnay, Shaw & Smith, Adelaide Hills

High-altitude site Lenswood was first planted in 1999 and provides an exquisite single vineyard Chardonnay from cousins Martin Shaw and Michael Hill Smith. Whole bunch pressing and fermentation in a range of oak, including used 500 litre puncheons, creates a wine with delicious nutty and sweet spice complexity. Precise lemon, white peach and juicy grapefruit create freshness to cut through the considerable concentration and richness.
