2002 Cyril Henschke Cabernet Sauvignon, Henschke, Eden Valley

2002 Cyril Henschke Cabernet Sauvignon, Henschke, Eden Valley

Vintage Note: 2002 saw a pitiful crop but consequently excellent balance of fruit, sugars, acidity and alcohol. One of Henschke's most exceptional vintages.

This is a wine of huge personality, a glass that is almost impossible to put down. It is dark and deep with a glowing opulence, its fulsome plum and spice nose is communicative and engaging. The palate is rich and wide ranging, offering smoke, berry fruit and a minty edge, all coming together in a direct, convincing core of flavour. Mocha, chocolate and hint of cherry form the second wave. 2002 Cyril is delicious to drink now but with years of pleasure in store.
