2013 Alvarinho, Quinta do Soalheiro
Soalheiro translates literally as ‘sun drop’ –which is quite a fitting name for one of Portugal’s most prized white wine producers. A very expressive wine, focused with gorgeous, ripe lemony fruit, hints of orange, honey and lots of mineral backbone. Technically the entry level wine but this is really quite serious. The 2013 tastes great already whilst the impressive 2012 vintage has only benefitted from the extra time in bottle.
