2021 Barolo, Gian Luca Colombo

2021 Barolo, Gian Luca Colombo

From one of the most exciting names in Barolo right now, the fruit for this wine largely comes from the Roddi MGA of Bricco Ambrogio wth some fruit from La Morra too. Made in a very classical way and matured in large Austrian casks, this is very fine textured, with notes of cranberry, wild strawberry and blood orange. A lift of tar and liquorice add complexity but this is a so elegant and focused on the finish.

Tasting notes

Lustrous ruby. Lifted cranberry nose that is still very shy and with a touch of volatile acidity. Racy red fruit with fine, clinging tannins. Mouth-watering yet filled out with fresh red fruit. Great freshness and energy.
