The vineyards are located in the San Donato in Poggio area of Chianti at an altitude of up to 480 metres. Isole e Olena are quite unique in the fact that their vineyards extend across 3 geological formations and therefore benefit from a complex mix of soils that make up their Chianti Classico. The wine showcases a multitude of red berry fruits with a sour cherry perfume that is wonderfully prominent both on the nose and palate. There are some herbs and bramble notes as well as some sweet and savoury spice. The palate is crisp and energetic and the tannins provide great structure to such a concentrated wine.
