"This comes from 60-90 year old vines, and then is aged in 50% new oak, and 50% second fill barrels. There’s so much intensity here, with real power and incredibly refined tannins. There’s a dried raisin character, and also a hint of bacon fat, with plenty of phenolic freshness on the finish. This is one of the best balanced wines you can find: powerful yet fresh, and spectacularly long. Bravo. "
