2019 Barolo Cicala, Poderi Aldo Conterno, Piedmont
The Cicala comes from vines of 50-55 years old from iron rich soils within the Bussia vineyard. Wild strawberries, blood orange and red cherries are supported with liquorice and clove spice. The tannins are evident and need time to resolve, however this wine has the concentration and structure to allow the wine to develop and age to make old bones.
