Marco took over the reins of his small family estate in 2000, and immediately started bottling
his own wines, where previously they had been sold off in bulk. The estate consists of just seven
hectares of vines in the Colli Orientali, the hills that separate Italy from Slovenia. He converted the
estate to organic viticulture in 2005, and using indigenous yeast and simple winemaking, he makes
pure, vibrant expressions of local grape varieties.
