2018 Barolo Monprivato, Giuseppe Mascarello, Piedmont

From a single vineyard in Castiglione Falletto, this is widely considered one of Piedmont’s greatest wines. The 2018 is beautiful. Notes of wild herbs, blood orange, and morello cherries burst from the glass. The palate has the wildness which we always associate with this vineyard, and there’s also incredible purity and refinement. A beautiful Nebbiolo.
