2015 Barbera d'Alba Pre-Phylloxera, Elvio Cogno
Only 3,000 bottles of this wine are produced, on vines in La Morra more than 120 years old. Due to their sandy soil, they survived the phylloxera epidemic. This is a ‘super-charged’ Barbera. It’s powerful and intense, with hints of tomato and mint alongside dark berry fruit coming together in an unending finish.
