2013 Rosso di Montalcino, La Gerla, Tuscany

Gorgeously juicy and already showing the great promise of the 2013 vintage, the Rosso di Montalcino from La Gerla has been a staff favourite ‘everyday’ red in the past couple of vintages. A juicy fruit core with a beautifully fine-grained tannic structure; perfectly balanced and delicious.

TASTING NOTES

A delightful and approachable Sangiovese, from hillside vineyards in Montalcino. With a delicate oak influence from eight months in big Slavonian oak, there’s also scented dark cherry, cloves and tea leaves on the nose, echoed on the palate along with ripe, smooth tannins and good acidity.
