2012 Pinot Bianco Sirmian DOC, Nals Margreid, Alto Adige
Based in the temperate and sheltered Alto Adige region in Northern Italy, Cantina Nals Margreid is a co-operative of around 100 small growers and handles fruit from a range of varieties and vineyards. This Pinot Bianco is a single vineyard wine, drawn from the southern slopes above the village. Smokily mineral on the nose, with hints of honey and hay, on the palate this leads into notes of wet stones, ripe apples and citrus fruit. A moreish and attractive wine and great value for money.
