2012 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Nocio dei Boscarelli, Tuscany

Just 4,000 bottles are produced of this stunning wine, that’s as good a demonstration of Prugnolo Nobile, or Sangiovese, as you’ll find. The old vines of 18-45 years give amazing depth and definition here.

Poderi Boscarelli - Famiglia De Ferrari Corradi

Boscarelli is a tiny estate, which gives the family total control over every part, and means they’ve been able to create wines of real individual character. Owner Luca works alongside celebrated winemaking consultant Maurizio Castelli, and his brother Nicolo is responsible for the vineyards. Nicolo, who lives on site, is hugely charismatic, and every time we meet him his facial hair has changed. What remains constant however is the quality of the wines from one of Montepulciano’s greatest names.
