Dubbed “one of the most fairly priced, cellar worthy wines in the world” by Antonio Galloni, the 2011 Rancia has certainly lived up to its billing. From a single vineyard site high up in the hills, this wine is classically powerful, yet elegant Sangiovese, with two years barrique ageing giving an attractive oak character. With plenty of tannin and excellent acidity, this is a wine that warrants extended ageing.
