Gianni Brunelli and wife Laura had been running a successful restaurant in Siena for 10 years. But in 1987 Gianni felt the call of his hometown, Montalcino, and took over the Le Chiuse di Sotto estate from his father. He fast gained a reputation for producing some of the town’s most impressive Brunellos di Montalcino. Sadly, Gianni passed away unexpectedly in 2008. Laura now carries the family torch, and has brought her own lovely style to the wines.
