From a great vintage, the 2006 Riserva from Le Potazzine is unsurprisingly dense, concentrated and powerful. It is, however, the tell-tale freshness and elegance of this tenuta that makes this Riserva truly special. Dark notes of blackcurrant and plum dominate the palate, with plenty of tobacco, animal and leathery notes bringing complexity to the finish. The balance and length are superb, and this wine should age gracefully for another 5 years, at which point it should provide a truly awesome experience. A must-have!
