2006 Barolo Bricat, Giovanni Manzone, Piedmont

2006 Barolo Bricat, Giovanni Manzone, Piedmont

The Bricat is more closed than its siblings at this stage, but no doubt it is the most serious and concentrated wine Manzone make. Some floral/herbal notes and the fruit is more blue/black than red. Ripe, but firm tannins and more acidity, in fact more of everything. Long, layered and complex Barolo at a very reasonable price. (94 points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate)
