2004 Brunello di Montalcino Gemini, Rasa La Serena
The Gemini is even deeper in colur than the normale. With its exotic bouquet of dark fruits, blackberry and a certain minerality, this is a powerful and brooding wine. It has the La Serena hallmarks of lavish fruit, but this is more structured and dense. With deep and intense flavours and a supple, but rich character, this is modern winemaking and it is extremely persuasive. This will evolve really well and has a great future. Interestingly, this is the opposite approach to Mastrojanni, but, in its way, it works equally as well. I rate this very highly.
