2004 Chianti Rufina Riserva Cedro, Fattoria Lavacchio, Tuscany
Deep ruby and almost opaque in the glass. The nose is opulent, offering-up tobacco, cherry and spice in a rich mixture.The palate is full and forceful and, whilst elegant, is atypical for Rufina in its power and depth. This is a striking wine with good acidity, excellent length and finessed tannins. The fleshy texture is backed-up by beautiful balance and good structure.A fine bottle of rufina riserva which will certainly repay keeping. Outstanding.
