From Galicia’s most celebrated winemaker, the ‘Sorte O Soro’ is sourced from a single vineyard plot of low vigour Godello planted in 1978 in the Bibei Valley. Fermentation takes place in 500 litre new French oak barrels and the wine spends 8 months on its lees, which gives the wine body and texture. The 2021 vintage was cooler in profile due to a cool winter, spring as well as sufficient rain throughout the growing season. This translates into crisp acidities, citrus, fennel and verbena notes combined with a creaminess and richness that persists on the palate thanks to the lees ageing.
