Young winemaker César Márquez's entry level Mencia is a real discovery. High altitude, old vines (mainly 100 years+) from vineyards around the region of Valtuille de Abajo. The whole bunch winemaking gives the wine a delicious red berry perfume with hints of violet and liquorice spice. The tannins are chalky and very integrated into the wine's juicy core.
