2017 Roda I Reserva, Rioja, Bodegas Roda

The Roda I is our favourite wine from the estate, and one of the finest Tempranillos we know. Here’s the 2017: the product of a dry vintage, where yields were down by more than 60%. But those minuscule yields have resulted in a concentrated, complex wine. Predominantly Tempranillo, with just 6% Graciano added for freshness, and 4% Garnacha for body and complexity. Ripe black plum and cherry fruit combine with leathery complexity and a long, flavourful finish. Rich on the palate with fine, silky tannins - this is a beautiful Rioja.
