2016 La Fleur Vivaltus, Ribera del Duero

2016 La Fleur Vivaltus, Ribera del Duero

Vivaltus is touted as the next big thing in Ribera del Duero. It's a new project from the Yllera family in conjunction with famed Bordeaux oenologist Jean-Claude Berrouet, most famous for making Château Pétrus. This is the second wine, made mostly from Tempranillo, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. It's vibrant, perfumed, balanced and elegant with ripe black fruit character intermingled with red plum and layers of complex flavours from oak. The texture is silky and there's noticeable freshness on the finish.
